God and Chance

My friend Andres had this to say in response to someone on his blog:

“Even if the universe isn’t designed then the theist at least is asking an interesting question, ‘Why the hell does it at least seem so designed?’, at the very least, what the theist points out is that something awfully weird seems to be going on. Either the universe is playing a rather cruel trick on me, or my intuition and senses tell me that there’s something genuinely non-‘random’ about this.”
